The Full Spectrum Philosophy

In physics, when white light passes through a prism, it breaks down into a full spectrum of rainbow colors. Each color is essential to creating white light—without even one, the whole cannot exist. We apply the same philosophy in our approach to dentistry.

Beyond treating cavities and aligning teeth, we focus on your overall health by identifying all the individual factors that contribute to your well-being. Without this comprehensive evaluation, optimal health cannot be achieved. We treat our patients as whole individuals—not just mouths.

Our full spectrum of treatments is designed to support not only a healthier smile, but a healthier body as well!

Victor Chu, DDS
General & Cosmetic Dentistry, Sleep Apnea, Implants, Invisalign®
Faq Arrow

Dr. Victor has been practicing dentistry for nearly 20 years. As the son of two dentists, Dr. Chu and Dr. Yang, he grew up with a deep appreciation for the impact dentistry can have on people’s lives.

He earned his dental degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry, followed by a one-year general practice residency at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. There, he gained advanced training in caring for severely medically compromised patients as well as those with facial trauma affecting their teeth and oral health. During his residency, Dr. Victor presented continuing education lectures to the local dental community and published an article in the Hawaii Dental Journal on the effects of bisphosphonate treatment in dental patients.

Known by his patients for his attentiveness and gentle chairside manner, Dr. Victor is dedicated to delivering exceptional care. His passion for dentistry extends beyond his practice—he organizes dental mission trips to underserved countries, helping colleagues and dental students discover the deeper calling behind the profession.

Outside the office, Dr. Victor enjoys cooking and spending time with his family. He loves relaxing with Disney+ alongside the four “royals” in his life: his wife, Alisa; daughters, Brinley and Kennedy; and his son, Jaxon, the family’s little prince.

Mark Tsao, DDS
General & Cosmetic Dentistry
Faq Arrow

Dr. Tsao was born in Taiwan. When he was 12 years old, he and his family immigrated to the United States and settled in Cerritos, CA. He graduated from Cerritos High School in 1996 as the valedictorian of his class and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in biology from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 2000. He has always had an immense interest in the healthcare fields, but also harbored a passion for art and technology, so he ventured to the San Francisco Bay Area where he worked as a web developer and graphic designer. Although he found his work rewarding, he missed the close personal relationships and privilege of working on the human body that are unique to being a healthcare provider. After careful research, he decided on a career in dentistry and never looked back. In 2007, he graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry among the top of his class. He earned numerous awards for his academic achievements and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

After graduation, Dr. Tsao pursued additional training by completing a residency program in general dentistry at the VA hospital in Long Beach, where he treated our nation’s veterans. Dr. Tsao then began his career as an associate dentist at several practices in Los Angeles County and Orange County, as well as in Northern California. In 2018, Dr. Tsao joined Chu & Yang Dental to work alongside Dr. Victor Chu, his long-time friend and classmate at UCLA. Dr. Tsao was drawn to Chu & Yang Dental because they share the same dental philosophy – they strive to build long-lasting partnerships with their patients that are based on honesty and personal, gentle dental experiences.

Dr. Tsao remains committed to honing his knowledge and skills by regularly attending continuing education courses and study clubs. He is a member of the American Dental Society, California Dental Society, and Orange County Dental Society. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. When he is not doing dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, playing sports, and cheering on the Lakers.

Josephine Yang, DDS
Sleep Apnea/Snoring treatment, TMJ/Craniofacial Pain, Orthodontics, Cosmetic Dentistry
Faq Arrow

Dr. Yang graduated from the USC School of Dentistry in 1982, where she received the distinguished Omicron Kappa Upsilon academic award. She went on to serve as a clinical assistant professor at USC for nine years, earning the Teaching Excellence Award from her students twice.

Over her 40 years in practice, Dr. Yang built a reputation for her holistic approach to dentistry—looking beyond teeth alone to care for the whole person. She pursued advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, chirodontics, TMJ disorders, and sleep apnea/snoring treatment. Her expertise also extended to the use of high-tech diagnostic tools, particularly in the treatment of TMJ disorders, which she shared through lectures with her colleagues in the dental field.

Though now retired from full-time practice, Dr. Yang continues to give back by giving consultations and offering pro bono services to clergy members. Her commitment ensures that the decades of training and experience she has accumulated continue to benefit our patients and support the next generation of dental professionals.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Yang brings joy to her community by performing both traditional and modern dances at charity events.
